Conforme se acelera, esta inflexão fica cada vez mais inclinada para trás, adotando a forma de um cone (“Cone de Mach”).<br />Além do choque frontal, forma-se um outro logo atrás da cauda. Ao passar por essas oscilações, o ar sofre violentas variações de pressão. Entre os extremos da estrutura, o escoamento colide com outras partes da aeronave (capota, entradas de ar, aerofólios), gerando ondas de choque de menor intensidade. Seus efeitos tendem-se a se misturar com os choques principais a alguma distância da aeronave<br /><br />Curiosamente a maior parte dos aviões supersônicos tem asas de perfil subsônico. Isso é possível, adotando um enflechamento das asas suficiente para que, em todo o envelope operacional:<br />O bordo de ataque esteja dentro do Cone de Mach; e<br />A componente da velocidade perpendicular ao bordo de ataque seja menor que Mach 1.<br />O Mirage III é um exemplo clássico deste recurso de projeto.<br /><br /><a name="3">Como o avião mede a velocidade supersônica?</a><br /><br />Os aviões supersônicos e os protótipos em campanha de ensaios em vôo normalmente optam por instalar seus sensores anemométricos (pressão total e pressão estática) e de temperatura fora do escoamento perturbado pela aeronave. Assim, colocam-nos em um longo tubo à frente do nariz da aeronave.<br /><br /><a name="4">O que o piloto sente quando o avião ultrapassa a velocidade do som?</a><br />Depende do projeto do avião. Nos aviões da década de 1940 e 50, poderia surgir alguma característica indesejável de pilotagem durante a aceleração transônica, devido à formação de ondas de choque sobre as asas e estabilizadores.<br />Depois desta época, fórmulas consagradas se impuseram e minimizaram este tipo de interferência. Dois efeitos, entretanto, devem ser obrigatoriamente resolvidos pelos sistemas de bordo:<br />Aerodinâmico: em vôo supersônico, as forças aerodinâmicas de sustentação e arrasto se redistribuem pela aeronave, assumindo um novo perfil. O sistema de comandos de vôo deve ser projetado de modo a filtrar esse evento, reposicionando automaticamente os comandos de arfagem, sem provocar descontinuidade na manobra executada pelo piloto. O Mirage III, por exemplo, move automaticamente a posição de neutro do manche para trás nesta condição; e<br />Anemométrico: na transição para o vôo supersônico, também se forma uma onda de choque à frente dos sensores anemométricos do avião. Para superar este efeito, são aplicadas fórmulas de conversão para traduzir valores de pressão em informações para o piloto (velocidade, altitude...) diferentes do vôo subsônico. É comum aviões serem atingidos pelos raios, mas como estão imersos no ambiente ionizado, o raio passa pela carcaça metálica, que forma uma "gaiola de Faraday", e continua a descida em direção ao solo, sem afetar os instrumentos de bordo.<br />Isso eu só tinha ouvido falar nos bancos da faculdade nas aulas de Fisica III e agora essa sequencia ilustra muito bem o que o maluco do professor tentava inutilmente explicar. Ainda bem que viajamos numa "gaiola de Faraday" caso contrário não ia ser muito divertido.<br /><br />Fica aqui a pergunta:<br />- Quantas descargas ou radiações sofremos quando estamos a bordo de aviões e nem percebemos? Será que existem estudos sérios a respeito? Além de outras razões históricas, o que reforça tal tipo de ensino de física é a expectativa de que sirva como preparo eficiente para os exames vestibulares, de acesso ao nível superior. Além de levar a uma mediocrização do aprendizado, automatizando ações pedagógicas, tal ensino nem sequer serve adequadamente à preparação para o ensino superior, pois a postura de memorização sem compreensão, conduz ao esvaziamento do sentido das fórmulas matemáticas, que expressam leis fundamentais ou procedimentos científicos, conduz enfim a um falso aprendizado.<br />Para evitar que se instale tal "burocratização" do ensino da Física, além das recomendações de natureza metodológica, tratadas mais adiante neste mesmo texto, são necessárias modificações do próprio conteúdo.
